今年も、飯塚国際車いすテニス大会（通称ジャパンオープン）が、ＩＴＦ（国際車いすテニス連盟）のＮＥＣ車いすテニスツアー・スーパーシリーズの一環として、成功裡に開催されましたことを心よりお祝い申し上げます。
ＮＥＣでは地域社会をお客さま、株主、お取引先とならぶ大切な関係者（ステークホルダー）として認識し、よき企業市民としての社会的責任のもと、地球環境保全、青少年教育、社会福祉や芸術文化・スポーツ等の分野でさまざまな社会貢献プログラムを展開しています。

障がい者の社会参加や国際親善の促進につながる車いすテニス支援は重要なプログラムのひとつです。ＩＴＦのＮＥＣ車いすテニスツアー／マスターズ（世界選手権）、財団法人吉田記念テニス研修センターのＮＥＣ全日本選抜車いすテニス選手権大会などへの協賛、そしてアジアでの車いすテニス普及活動など、ＮＥＣは国内外で車いすテニスを支援しています。車いすテニスの社会における認知度向上のため、今年もＮＰＯ法人ＳＴＡＮＤとのコラボレーションにより決勝の熱戦をネットライブ中継させていただきました。
この大会を支配する独特の暖かい雰囲気は、行政関係者、地域企業、団体、市民ボランティアの皆様一人一人のご尽力によるものと考えます。今年参加された選手の皆様のご健闘を称えるとともに、今年もこの大会を支えてこられた皆様すべてに敬意を表します。
最後になりますが、本大会の益々のご発展とともに、飯塚を発信地に車いすテニスがますます盛んになっていくことを心から願っています。

I congratulate everyone involved in the Iizuka International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament 2011 (the Japan Open). It was successfully carried out as in previous years in the International Tennis Federation's Super Series, a part of the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour.
NEC regards our communities as one of our vital stakeholders-the same way we view our customers, shareholders, and employees. And, as a part of society, we initiate and are involved in many social contribution activities to fulfill NEC's corporate social responsibility as a good corporate citizen in the fields of the environment, education, social welfare, arts and culture, and sports. The goal is a more sustainable society.
Wheelchair tennis is one of NEC's key programs because it highlights the advancement of people with disabilities and promotes international friendship. This is an important reason we have been sponsoring the International Tennis Federation's Wheelchair Tennis Tour (the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour), the World Championship (the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters), the National Championship (the NEC-Japan Wheelchair Tennis Association), and a series of wheelchair tennis clinics in Asia.
A very warm atmosphere was created at the Japan Open by the local government, city offices, local companies, organizations, and every citizen volunteer. It is a pleasure to be a part of such a great event. As in the previous years, NEC and an NPO STAND provided a live video streaming for final for the Japan Open. I hope it was a great promotion for everyone.
I congratulate every athlete who participated in the event, and would like to convey my gratitude to every supporter. I believe wheelchair tennis will become even more popular here in Iizuka through the Japan Open.
